Shank telss a classic story of gangland betrayal through a mature, pulp fiction lens. It is a side scrolling action adventure game in which players assume the role of aman (Shank) on a quest for revenge against an evil villain. Players use hand guns, shotguns, grenades, and a variety of melee style weapons (knives, chain saws, machete, etc) to kill thugs and bosses.
If it werent ofr the bloody violence, Shank could be agame adaptation of a Cartoon Network Show. But with God of War series writer Marianne Krawcyk behind the script and experienced animator jeff agala, former direcor of Atomic Betty, as creative lead, the game's fusion of brutal revenge story and stylish, comic book aesthetic makes perfect sense. Product manager Alex charlow cites Tarantion movies as another creative.
